Autonomous Solar-Powered Docking Station for the Unmanned Quadrotors |

Abstract: Renewable energy resources could be used to increase the unmanned quadrotors mission durability. In this paper, the research of the autonomous docking station powered by solar energy is presented. The configuration of the system prototype is described. The station is capable to operate continuously by months without human intervention. Experiments take place to investigate the energy harvesting process for two solar panels configuration: stationary and with dual-axis solar tracker. It was found that to maximize the amount of energy required for the system operation photo-voltaic modules combined with solar tracker should be used instead of fixed solar panels. | ||||||||
